Tom Peter

CDR Tom Peter began his FDA career in 2010 as an investigator in the Detroit District Office and joined the USPHS Commissioned Corps in 2013. He has led numerous high-profile medical device inspections and has served in roles including Medical Device Specialist, Supervisory Investigator, CDRH Reviewer, and member of ORA’s Medical Device Dedicated Foreign Inspection Cadre. Since 2020, he has supported OMDRHI’s QMSR implementation and was promoted in 2024 to Senior Operations Officer, serving as a technical authority on medical device regulatory policy. CDR Peter holds six ASQ certifications and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biomedical engineering from the University of Michigan.
