Olga van Grol Lawlor is the Global Regulatory Policy & Advocacy Associate Director at Boston Scientific, providing senior leadership on global medical device regulatory policy. Her work focuses on advancing the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR) alongside international regulatory reliance, harmonization, and convergence, positioning these priorities as critical enablers of innovation, regulatory efficiency, and global patient access.
With over 10 years of experience in regulatory policy and advocacy across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), Olga transitioned into a global advocacy leadership role in 2022. She brings deep expertise in EU regulatory frameworks and MDR implementation, combined with a strong global outlook, to shape industry strategy and influence the evolution of regulatory systems worldwide.
Olga is widely recognized for her thought leadership in global regulatory policy and governance. She serves as a member of the Industry Group of the International Medical Device Regulators Forum (IMDRF) and is actively engaged in AdvaMed and Irish MedTech. Within MedTech Europe, she holds senior leadership roles as Chair of the Regulatory Affairs Committee for Medical Devices (RAC MD) and the Group for International Regulatory Activities (GIRA), where she guides strategic positions on EU MDR, international reliance models, regulatory convergence, and global alignment initiatives.
She represents industry in the European Commission’s Medical Device Coordination Group (MDCG) and MDCG International Matters, contributing to high level dialogue with EU and international regulators on MDR implementation, international cooperation, and global regulatory consistency. A trusted and influential voice in regulatory policy discussions, Olga is committed to advancing modern, science based, and globally coherent regulatory frameworks that strengthen trust, support innovation, and ensure timely patient access to safe and effective medical technologies worldwide.
