Commander (CDR) Cesar Perez serves as Director of the Division of Establishment Support within the Office of Regulatory Programs (ORP), Office of Product Evaluation and Quality (OPEQ), Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In this role, he oversees the development and implementation of critical policies and processes governing medical device compliance programs. His division manages essential regulatory programs including, imports, registration and listing, exports, and regulatory inspections/audits, including the Medical Device Single Audit Program (MDSAP) for medical devices. From 2016-2018, CDR Perez served as a Branch Chief within the Division of Premarket Labeling and Compliance, where he led enforcement actions related to medical devices premarket, labeling and promotion/advertising requirements. From 2008-2015, he served as a Consumer Safety Officer within the Office of Compliance, CDRH. CDR Perez attended the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz and obtained a bachelor’s degree in biology. In 2008, he earned his Ph.D. in Microbiology from New York University School of Medicine.
